Meet The Team

I have been a keen cyclist since 1980 when I joined the High Wycombe CC and spent many years time trialling & road racing with many TT wins and road race victories as a sprinter.  joined Cycle Care in 1995 as the Shop Manager before buying the business in 1999. 29 years on and I am still here passing on my enthusiasm, knowledge & experience. My specific areas of expertise are road bikes & bike fitting. Feel free to call or email me for any advice or help. My team and I are totally customer service focused.

I joined Cycle Care in April 2021 just as the pandemic lockdown was easing.  My journey to join the team is an unusual one having previously had a 38 year career in aviation; both military and civil.  After 12 years in the RAF, I continued my flying in airlines such as Monarch, Emirates and Virgin.

An avid cyclist throughout my life, I’ve been interested in mechanics since stripping down and rebuilding my first bike at the age of 7.  In later years I competed in triathlons for over a decade before injury stopped me running (well, that’s my excuse). 

Since then my tastes have varied between road and mountain. My first MTB was a bright yellow Muddy Fox which I replaced with a Specialized Stumpjumper.  I built myself another XTR equipped Stumpjumper and purchased a Cannondale CAAD10: these bikes allowed me to venture abroad to Morocco (Atlas Mountains), Iceland and Italy.

Having had a week’s tour around the hills of Nice on the Cannondale, I caught the bug of multi day events and wanted a bike more suited to endurance riding: I knew Simon from our days at Amersham Road Cycling Club and he provided me with a Bianchi Infinito CV on which I have completed the RAID Pyrenees and RAID Alps.

Hello, my name is Alfie and I am Cycle Care’s latest recruit to the team. I joined them in August 2021.
From a young age I have been a very keen cyclist enjoying both mountain biking and road riding and I currently ride a Caad12 and Yeti Arc.
I have always been inquisitive about how things work, how to fix them, how to upgrade them and especially creating custom built masterpieces 😊
When I’m not in the Workshop, I am training hard for my other great passion which is rowing and I have represented GB @ U23 European level.
 

Ollie has now retired permanently and is sleeping soundly. We will all miss the little fella and the joy he brought to our lives.
